We have a African Grey as well,Max. He would hurt the cat Im sure so I do not try to let them play. He loves me and thats it. You know how that goes Thanks for the comment!

The video show the intelligence of the cockatoo to be almost human like, it seems like the cat is a pet to it!!

That is an amazing video clip! You would thing that a bird and a cat would be natural enemies and be automatically hostile towards one another. Instead, those two just wanna check each other out and make nice. So cute!

Wow, that is incredible. My Congo African Grey will put his “hand” out occasionally and squeeze & open his “fist.” In the air though, or by me. It’s a weird gesture, but very similar to your cockatoo’s. I think it’s more about approaching something unfamiliar in a familiar way (like when they pick up food/objects with their “hand.”) I’m surprised your cat didn’t get a nip. My CAG always nips my dog’s ears, invited or not.

What is the parrot doing exactly? It seems to be testing out this strange new object but at the same time it almost looks like it is stroking the cat the way a person would. Has it seen a person do that and is copying maybe?
